About
The Barangay Health Information System (BHIS) for Nueva Era is a secure web platform designed to replace the manual, paper-based system for managing health records. It digitizes patient information to make it efficient, accessible, and secure for both barangay health workers (Admins) and residents (Patients).
How it works: When an admin adds or updates a patient's information, the system automatically encrypts the data before saving it to the database.
Why it's secure: This encryption process ensures the confidentiality and integrity of patient information, protects it from unauthorized access, and helps comply with the Data Privacy Act of 2012. Data is only decrypted when a verified user needs to view it.
